Picked in the morning on the 26th of February 2016, this Shiraz has all the markers that can be attributed to an outstanding wine. Well balanced vines and careful berry skin development during the growth stage, followed by gentle turning of the skins during an extended ferment has led to a vibrant yet deep coloured wine.
An aroma that is a blend of berries and spice with a soft oak influence can be accredited to quality fruit and the measured use of French oak. Lastly a full bodied palate that fills the mouth with savoury flavours and finishes with fine tannins and a hint of pepper.
The Beklyn Story…
Our journey and love for wine began in 1994 working in Vineyards situated in the wine region of McLaren Vale. The artistic method it takes to produce quality wine from vine to glass developed our passion in the industry.
In 2002 we built our first home with three young children on our property in Currency Creek on the Southern Fleurieu Peninsula. Here our love for producing wine took flight and we planted our first vineyard. The property was named Beklyn meaning “Pretty Brook” which derives from the passage of water flowing through the Beklyn Estate.
Our dream to produce individual hand-crafted wines was made possible in 2016 when purchasing grapes from three vineyards in McLaren Vale. With years of dedication and anticipation we have developed our journey into the bottle of the 2016 Beklyn Shiraz.
